How to play

This seasonal tourist game takes you on eight trails through the stories of water in the Lašská brána region of the Beskydy Mountains. Along the way, you’ll answer questions, and at the end of each trail, you’ll find a box with a small reward and a contest sticker. The game runs from May 31 to October 31, 2026.

Pick up the leaflet and fold the frog

You won’t be able to do it without the flyer. You’ll need the folded “frog” (heaven-hell-paradise) during the game to get the right codes to open the treasure. At the same time, you’ll collect stickers on the remaining portion of the flyer, and once you turn in the complete flyer, you’ll be entered into the fall drawing for the Great Lachian Treasure.

How to prepare for the game

Simply print out the flyer and assemble it into a puzzle. Print in color. However, it’s better to pick up the flyer at one of the information centers (Kopřivnice, Štramberk, Příbor, Hukvaldy). The same applies to the contest questions. The questions along the route are in Czech only. Questions adapted for English- and Polish-speaking players can be found on the website or picked up in print at the information center.

Where to find the leaflet

At the information centers in Kopřivnice, Štramberk, Příbor, and Hukvaldy. Or right at the end of each trail. So, once you’ve solved a trail using a temporary printed frog, you can pick up a leaflet from the treasure box and assemble the frog properly.

How to get to the treasure at the finish line

Each route takes you through three stations. At each station, you’ll find three questions. Answer them correctly to earn clues—and with those clues, the frog puzzle will help you find the key to the treasure.

  • Clue A Clue A will reveal the color of the compass when you point it toward yourself.
  • Clue B Clue B specifies how many times you should "frog-leg" your hands. You always start facing forward (index fingers together, thumbs together). Then you open and close your hands exactly as many times as there are letters in the word from Clue B.
  • Clue C Clue C tells you which animal’s picture you should look under to find the two-digit code. Write that code on the back of your contest entry form.
  • Unlock the treasure at the finish line Once you’ve visited all the checkpoints along the route, you should have three two-digit numbers. Arrange them in order (as they appear from the 1st to the 3rd checkpoint). Add # to the six-digit number you’ve obtained. That’s it. You have the code to the treasure box. Pick up your small reward, stick the sticker on the contest slip, and return everything to its original place so others can enjoy the treasure too.

You've been asking

A few things you might want to know before heading out.

Do I need to register?
Registration isn't required; you can play the game without it. However, creating a profile on this website can be helpful. For example, you can verify that your codes are correct while you're on the route, so you won't face any unpleasant surprises at the finish line due to a mistake made during the game.
Who can play?
Anyone, regardless of age. You can enjoy the game as a couple, with family, with friends, or even on your own. However, some routes may be difficult to navigate with a stroller, wheelchair, or bicycle. We therefore recommend checking the route in advance to ensure you have enough time and are physically able to complete it comfortably.
The game "Searching for the Lachian Treasure" is it just for kids?
No, it’s not just for kids. The Search for the Lachian Treasure is a game for all generations. And it has a much deeper meaning. You might even be surprised to learn that the questions aren’t always designed so that children can answer them entirely on their own. One of the game’s goals is to bring generations together. We hope the game will encourage parents, grandparents, preschoolers, schoolchildren, and teenagers to communicate with one another—to talk about the words, questions, and topics we hint at, introduce, or draw attention to through our questions during the game. The game often even requires adults to try rephrasing a question, providing further explanation, or guiding children toward the correct answer. Or for the whole family to search for the answer together using clues in their surroundings—helping children experience that delightful sense of accomplishment when you uncover the correct solution. But don’t worry, it’s not too complicated either. The questions can often be solved by process of elimination or common sense. Work together. Be together. Talk together. In the end, that may be the greatest treasure this game can bring you.
When does the game run?
The game is seasonal; in 2026, it begins on May 31 and ends on October 31. Outside of this period, the stations with the contest questions are taken down. Every year, we prepare new routes and contest questions for you. This year marks the 6th edition of the game.
How many routes are there?
Eight trails await you. There are two trails in each town or village in the Lašská brána region of the Beskydy Mountains. You’ll discover new hidden corners, views, points of interest, nature, landscapes, and stories from the areas around Kopřivnice, Štramberk, Příbor, and Hukvaldy.
What's at the end of a route?
At the end of each route, a "treasure" awaits participants who know the correct code. The treasure chest contains a small collectible prize for players, as well as a sticker that you can attach to your entry form, which will then enter you into a drawing for the Great Lachian Treasure at the end of the season.
What if I collect all 8 stickers?
You can enter the drawing for the Great Lachian Treasure. Simply turn in your completed entry form with all the stickers at one of our information centers—either in person or by mail. Registered users on this website can also submit their "entry form" virtually online—but even then, you’ll still need to turn in the physical form at an information center.
What should I do if the treasure chest is empty or incomplete?
Yes, that can happen, and there are various reasons why. We do everything we can to make sure it doesn’t happen too often. Leaving a note about it directly in the safe won’t help much. So please contact us, preferably through the bug report form on the website or by email. We’ll restock the cache as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can pick up a replacement reward at the information center in that city, or at the IC in Kopřivnice, where replacement rewards for all 8 routes are available.
Can I share answers on social media?
Share your experiences and photos. We’d love to see the hashtags #lasskypoklad, #lasskypoklad2026, and #lasskabranabeskyd. But please—don’t reveal the locations, questions, answers, codes, or any other key information. You’d ruin the experience for others.
Do the routes have to be completed in a specific order?
No, the order in which you complete the routes is entirely up to you. If you only want to complete some of the routes and don’t want to enter the drawing for the Great Lašský Treasure, that’s certainly possible. However, to give us a better idea of how many participants are taking part in the game, it would help if you registered here on the website and kept track of the routes you’ve completed, even if you don’t end up finishing them all.
